Agriculture & Agro-Processing
Sub-Saharan Africa has enormous agricultural potential but chronic underinvestment in the infrastructure needed to realise it. We fund the transition from subsistence to productive, commercially viable agriculture — the sector behind our flagship project, Umoja.
Where we deploy capital:

- •Post-harvest storage, cold chain, and agro-processing facilities
- •Agricultural mechanisation programmes
- •Fertiliser production and distribution infrastructure
- •Livestock development and veterinary infrastructure

Housing & Urban Development
Africa's housing deficit is one of the continent's most pressing economic and social challenges. We structure and fund housing delivery programmes at scale.
Where we deploy capital:
- •Social and affordable housing construction programmes
- •Urban infrastructure (roads, water, sanitation, electricity connections)
- •Government mortgage and housing finance facilities
- •Urban regeneration and slum upgrading projects
- •Public-private partnerships for housing delivery
Financing typically sourced from:
Shelter Afrique, AfDB, World Bank/IDA, bilateral housing funds, DFI-backed mortgage facilities, commercial real estate lenders.
Export & Hard-Currency Income
Economic resilience requires hard currency earnings. We back projects specifically designed to generate export revenue.
Where we deploy capital:
- •Export processing zones and special economic zones
- •Value-added manufacturing and mineral beneficiation
- •Trade logistics infrastructure (ports, rail, warehousing)
- •Export-oriented agro-processing (coffee, cocoa, cashew, horticulture)
- •Tourism infrastructure with foreign exchange earning potential
Financing typically sourced from:
IFC, BII, Proparco, KfW, export credit agencies, trade finance facilities, commercial project finance lenders.
Infrastructure & Industry
Roads, energy, water, manufacturing — the building blocks of industrialisation. We prepare and fund large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects.
Where we deploy capital:
- •Energy generation and distribution (including renewables)
- •Transport infrastructure (roads, bridges, rail, ports)
- •Water and sanitation systems
- •Industrial parks and manufacturing facilities
